Court Dismisses Claim of Athletic Director, who Advocated for Title IX

A federal court has concluded that the former athletic director at Lafayette College in Pennsylvania, who was fired shortly after she became an advocate for gender equity at the school, is not entitled to relief under Title IX.   Specifically, the court found that Atkinson did not sufficiently allege that she was engaged in protected conduct, which is the first element of a retaliation claim, by virtue of the fact that she was in charge of the department that she was criticizing.   Atk
