Court: Coach’s Age and Race Discrimination Claims Can Continue

A federal judge has denied a school district’s bid for summary judgment in a case where an African American coach claimed that it discriminated against him on the basis of his age and race when it failed to reappoint him to several coaching positions.   The court did, however, grant summary judgment to the district on the plaintiff’s retaliation claim, finding that given “the plaintiff’s failure to produce evidence of a similarly-situated employee, no reasonable jury would find that
