Polsinelli has strengthened its national sports industry group with the addition of Shareholder Daniel Adams in its Boston office.
Adams is a prominent corporate and transactional attorney “whose wide-ranging skill in representing sports-related institutions will complement Polsinelli’s broad national practice in the collegiate, amateur, and professional sports industries,” according to the firm.
Kevin Sweeney, a Polsinelli shareholder who has counseled collegiate conferences and amateur sports organizations for more than 30 years, added that Adams’ “extensive experience and deep contacts in the sports world significantly expand the areas in which Polsinelli can serve our existing sports clients, and will open doors for us to enhance and grow our sports practice on a nationwide basis.”
Adams has more than a dozen years of experience as legal counsel to the sports industry, focused on negotiating licensing, partnerships, joint ventures, purchase and sale, venue-leasing, broadcast and multimedia rights, and sponsorship agreements on behalf of institutional sports clients. His clients include professional teams, leagues, sports broadcast entities, academic institutions, retail brands, collegiate conferences, sports-focused private equity funds, and other amateur sports organizations. In addition to his experience in the sports industry, Adams has transactional experience in a range of other industries, including technology, media, retail, health care, consumer products, and financial services.
Among his past clients, Adams has represented private equity groups in connection with a $4 billion bid for a mixed martial arts organization, a proposed acquisition of an adventure race company, and a multi-billion bid for a multimedia rights entity.

Adams has been a member of the Massachusetts Amateur Sports Foundation’s Board of Directors since 2006, which operates the Bay State Games. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the East Greenbush Miracle League in New York, a sports organization that provides opportunities for individuals with special-needs to play baseball, flag football, bowling, basketball, and soccer.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina’s School of Law in Chapel Hill, Adams also holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He completed his undergraduate degree from Boston College with bachelor’s degrees in economics and philosophy.
