The Minnesota Vikings have promoted Karin Nelsen to Executive Vice President & Chief Legal Officer. It has been a meteoric rise for Nelson, who joined the NFL team five years ago after stints at Cargill Inc. (Minnesota’s largest private company), Larkin Hoffman, and as a CPA at Touche Ross. At the time of her initial hire, then-Vikings Chief Operating Officer Kevin Warren said in a news release: “Karin has established an impeccable reputation not only in her field but also as an extremely effective and respected organizational leader. Her acumen in complex legal, business and human resources issues, as well as her dedication and passion for social responsibility, will be integral to our future growth.” In her new role, she was responsible for the team’s legal functions and relationships with outside counsel in her new role.
