The University of California Berkeley has promoted Kat Brown, a former All-Pac-12 volleyball player at Cal who went on to earn a law degree at the University of San Diego, to become its new Associate Athletics Director for Compliance and Student Services. Brown has spent the past seven years working in Cal’s compliance office, most recently serving as Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance. She will oversee all aspects of Cal’s compliance efforts, including educating student-athletes, coaches, staff and the Cal community on NCAA legislation; serving as the liaison to the conference office for legislative and governance matters; guiding the department’s athletic scholarship operations and eligibility certification process; and promoting a compliant culture across Cal Athletics.
