Global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised the Ownership Group of Seattle Sounders FC in an investment in Seattle Reign FC, three-time winners of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) shield. Following the completion of a final Purchase and Sale Agreement, the Ownership Group of Seattle Sounders FC, along with global investment firm Carlyle, have come together to invest in and operate Seattle Reign FC. Sounders FC Owner Adrian Hanauer is serving as Governor of Reign FC on the NWSL Board of Governors, Carlyle’s Head of Private Credit, Alex Popov, will serve as Alternate Governor and Maya Mendoza-Exstrom will serve as Chief Business Officer of Seattle Reign FC. The Hogan Lovells team was led by Global Head of Sports, Media, and Entertainment Craig Umbaugh (Denver), partners Chris Weigand (Denver), Mark Weinstein (New York), James Adams (Washington, D.C.), counsel Grant Munyon (Philadelphia), and associate Sydnie Pennington (Denver).
