Welcome Krista W., VP, Associate General Counsel at Miami HEAT to our adjunct faculty! And welcome back Hal Biagas, COO, Seven1 Sports and Entertainment Group and longtime University of Miami School of Law EASL program adjunct faculty (Esports Law) and advisory board member. Krista and Hal will be co-teaching the introductory Sports Law survey course to a packed house this Fall!
Krista joined the Miami Heat in 2021 after 5+ years as a Corporate Associate at Proskauer Rose LLP and a member of the Sports Law group. Hal has over two decades of experience as a lawyer in the sports industry spending 10+ years at the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) and then as in-house counsel for Excel Sports Management and Wasserman agencies before becoming the first ever Executive Director of the NALCS (League of Legends) Players Association. He is now the COO of Seven1 Sports and Entertainment agency, an agency founded by NBA All Stars Jermaine O’Neal and Tracy McGrady.
We are so grateful that Krista and Hal have agreed to deepen their engagement with Miami Law School and our Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Program (EASL) by bringing their collective industry experience to the classroom for this foundational course. What an exciting and dynamic time to be studying sports law. We look forward to a great semester!
