Jackie Campbell will return to the NCAA as the director of law, policy and governance.
Campbell’s previous work at the national office included being the primary liaison to the Division I Board of Directors. She will serve the Association in a similar capacity once again.
In her new role in law, policy and governance, Campbell will support the NCAA Board of Governors, manage Association-wide issues, effectively communicate with all three governance structures, overseeing all committee liaisons and monitoring the governance efficiency.
“I am honored to return to the national office as the director of law, policy and governance, and want to thank Donald Remy for this opportunity,” said Campbell. “I am excited and look forward to supporting the staff and the membership in their continued work to provide student-athletes with an exceptional collegiate experience.”
In addition to her time at the national office, Campbell’s career of more than 20 years in college athletics administration has included stops at three campuses and one conference office. Most recently, Campbell was the senior associate athletics director and senior woman administrator at George Mason University.

While she was at Mason only a short time she made a significant impact in the reengineering of our compliance department. We wish her all the best.”
Campbell worked for 10 years at the Atlantic 10 Conference as an assistant commissioner for compliance, associate commissioner and then senior associate commissioner.
She also served at the campus level as associate director of athletics in student services for the University of Connecticut and associate director of athletics for compliance at the University of Maryland, College Park.
Additionally, Campbell served on several NCAA committees, including the Division I Management Council, where she was chair during the 2007-08 academic year. Her other NCAA Division I service included the Legislative Review and Interpretations Committee, Women’s Basketball Committee, Academics/Eligibility/Compliance Cabinet, Women’s Soccer Committee and Satisfactory-Progress Waiver Committee.
This will be Campbell’s third stint with the national office. She began her college sport administration career with the NCAA in 1991, serving for six years as a legislative assistant and assistant chief of staff for Division I. She came back to the national office in 2008, first as the director for Division I women’s basketball and then as the director of Division I.

Campbell holds a Master of Science in sport management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a Bachelor of Science in commerce (marketing) from the University of Virginia. The former student-athlete played basketball and field hockey for the Cavaliers.
Campbell will start Oct. 31 at the national office.
