Ellen J. Staurowsky. A sports law professor in the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, has been recognized with the Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award from Ursinus College, where she received her undergraduate degree. “The award honors alumni who have achieved exceptional success in their profession and/or have contributed significantly to the advancement and leadership of noteworthy civic, philanthropic, or service organizations for many years. Their lifelong achievements have brought them significant professional and volunteer recognition and has set a standard of excellence to which others may aspire.” Staurowsky, who is also the long-time Editor in Chief of Title IX Alert, noted that the evening was “inspiring, noting that it “was made more special by the fact that I shared this award with my family. My parents were both Ursinus graduates who met there. All six of my brothers, their spouses, three of my nephews (one who is currently attending Ursinus) and one of my nieces who is an Ursinus graduate, were there along with my mother’s sister and her husband. Long-time mentor and colleague, Temple University professor emeritus Michael Sachs was there. And my Ithaca College and Ursinus College worlds converged to have Candis Parry and Nina Geier there as well. My cup runneth over with gratitude.”
