The Sports Lawyers Association announced a series of leadership appointments at its annual conference, naming Arthur McAfee III as president-elect and adding Laura Warren, Jeff Cook and Ivan Parron to its board of directors.
The appointments are expected to help guide the organization as it continues to support the professional development of sports law practitioners.
McAfee is a veteran sports attorney and executive with more than three decades of experience in professional and collegiate athletics. He serves as a senior executive in the NFL’s Football Operations department and previously worked for the NFL Players Association, IMG and the NCAA. A graduate of Morehouse College and Howard University School of Law, McAfee has been a leader in sports law, labor relations, player development and league governance.
Parron is a Miami-based sports attorney and Founder of PARRON LAW, where he advises athletes, coaches, schools, sports organizations, and brands on sports contracts and disputes, NIL, media, artificial intelligence, intellectual property and high-stakes legal, business, and regulatory matters.
Warren is Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the Chicago Fire Football Club, where she oversees the Major League Soccer organization’s legal and business affairs. A graduate of the University of Chicago Law School, Warren is an experienced sports executive and attorney active in sports industry leadership and governance.
Cook is Chief Legal and Operations Officer of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), where he oversees the organization’s legal, investigative and operational functions. Before joining USADA in 2015, he served as a Senior Assistant U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C. Cook earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from Pepperdine University.
