In August 2025, Jack Bair, the former Chief Legal Officer for the San Francisco Giants, transitioned to the role of Chief Development Officer for the team.
In his new role, Bair is taking the lead on a $1.5 billion real estate project called Mission Rock, which includes the headquarters of Visa Inc. Mission Rock is a 38-acre mixed-use development located near Oracle Park, the Giants’ home stadium. Amy Tovar, who joined the Giants in 2016, succeeded Bair as the team’s top lawyer.
Bair joined the Giants in 1993 as the director of legal. He was later promoted to general counsel in 1996 and then to chief legal officer. Bair is recognized for his significant contributions to the Giants franchise, including his work in preventing the team’s relocation to Florida in 1992 and leading the effort to build Oracle Park. During his tenure with the team, the Giants won the World Series in 2010, 2012, and 2014.
