Aug 14, 2020

Munck Wilson Mandala (http://www.munckwilson.com) has announced that Tasha Schwikert has joined the firm’s Sports Law Practice as an associate. Schwikert brings with her four years of legal experience in corporate, real estate, and construction matters, representing clients in construction agreements, AIA agreements, real estate transactions, and general corporate matters. But she is better known to the general public as a Bronze Medal Olympian in gymnastics and a former commentator, coach, speaker, and sports agent before pursuing her legal career.

Even more impactful, Schwikert became an advocate for institutional change within USA Gymnastics and the United States Olympic Committee. Her passion motivated her to attend law school in her late 20s and she now serves as co-chair of the special committee for over 500 Larry Nassar survivors. In May 2019, she was instrumental in the effort to extend the Texas statute of limitations for child sexual abuse victims as a result of her testimony before the Texas Senate State Affairs Committee.

Schwikert received her J.D. from the William S. Boyd School of Law. She holds a B.A. in sociology from the University of California Los Angeles where she competed on the UCLA gymnastics team on a full scholarship.

Munck Wilson Mandala is a technology-focused law firm with offices in Dallas, Austin and Marshall, Texas, and Los Angeles, California.
