Beloff Named General Counsel of England and Wales Cricket Board

England and Wales Cricket Board has appointed senior sports lawyer Catherine Beloff as its new general counsel. Beloff will join the ECB in September and will oversee legal strategy for the governing body’s commercial, governance, regulatory and litigation matters. She will also join the ECB’s executive leadership group. Beloff arrives after a decade with the British Horseracing Authority where she served as general counsel and company secretary. During her tenure she also held wider operational oversight responsibilities including governance and business functions. Beloff was also a senior member of the global law firm DLA Piper’s sports practice for 10 years, advising governing bodies, clubs, athletes and rights holders on regulatory and commercial matters.
